IABEP is an organization dedicated to advancing the field of biomonitoring
The International Association for Biomonitoring of Environmental Pollution (IABEP) fosters collaboration among scientists, policymakers, and practitioners worldwide to promote the use of biomonitoring techniques for monitoring environmental pollutants. IABEP provides a platform for sharing research findings, developing standardized protocols, and advocating for the integration of biomonitoring into environmental management and policy-making processes.
Biomonitoring is the process of using cryptogams (mosses and lichens),
plants, fungi, animals, or microorganisms to measure pollutants in the environment. It provides valuable information about the extent of environmental contamination, the sources of pollutants, and their potential impacts on ecosystems and human health.
